Stones Throw Olives

Stones Throw Olives is a newly established grove, literally a stones throw from the quaint southern Gippsland town of Meeniyan 160 km south east of Melbourne. Nestled in the Tarwin Valley between the coast and the foot hills of the Strzelecki ranges, Stones Throw Olives has a temperate climate with good annual rainfall.

Coupled with a northerly aspect to maximise warmth and light, the grove provides excellent growing conditions. After careful preparation, the grove was planted in September 2007 and an initial commercial harvest is expected in 2011.

The grove consists of three European varieties, Frantoio and Leccino both Tuscan varieties and Picual from the Andalucia region of Spain. These varieties are excellent producers of high quality extra virgin olive oil.

Stones Throw Olives is a family run grove committed to producing, single estate artisan oil. Grove management is based on a chemical free philosophy to ensure the oil we produce is as fresh and healthy as is possible and characterises all that is good about Southern Gippsland, a region renowned for its fine produce.
